Fed up with the lack of decent size studios in Dublin, producer and musician Lancelot Smith, set about opening a state of the art digital recording studio with a spacious live room. "Coming from an artist background, I often faced the frustration of recording in ill equipped, cramped studios" says Lance, continuing "We wanted to make the process less stressful while producing a superior sound".
One of the biggest factors to consider when recording music is the room's acoustics. At Camelot Studios, great attention has been placed in designing a live room, making it ideal for recording music of any genre. Using state of the art digital recording console, with advanced analogue converters, Camelot Studios' ideal place to record your next project. Early clients, who've recorded there include Dublin blues rockers Jaded Sun and Irish singer songwriter Simon Fagan.
"For us it's all about the big live sound." Jaded Sun's lead singer John Maher comments, "The added bonus was the accessibility of the studio, we have a lot of gear and without good access, it would have been a nightmare".
Camelot Studios also boasts a large range of both vintage and new instruments from Hammond Organ & Fender Rhodes to Pearl Masters drum kit and a selection of electric guitars. "We empower and motivate bands to excel, but will only get as involve as each band wants" Lance continues, "One thing we won't do is hit record and sit back."
