If there is one single biggest obstacle to playing guitar well, it's playing barre chords in such a way that they are consistent and quick. Blues Guitar Unleashed instructor Griff Hamlin has just released a new video and guitar lesson on the topic at http://bluesguitarunleashed.com/how-to-play-barre-chords-easily-rd/.

Griff writes at the beginning of the lesson, "Probably the biggest hurdle most guitar players go through is learning how to consistently play the barre chord shapes and actually get the notes to ring out. I've finally figured out, after many years of doing it "the old way," that if I turn it around and start with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers instead of starting with the barre, it works a whole lot better."

The video runs about 9 minutes long and covers finger positioning for major and minor barre chord shapes. Griff also covers how to hold the guitar and the best sitting position to get started.

Google's own keyword tool reports that online users are searching for the keywords "barre chord", "bar chords," or "barre chords," in excess of 64,100 times per month globally. "Clearly this is something that a lot of people are really struggling with, so I hope this new way I've discovered to explain and teach it will really help, " says Griff.
