Discover The Secrets Of Blues Guitar Vibrato With New Lesson By Blues Guitar Unleashed
Blues Guitar Unleashed founder, Griff Hamlin, has released a new video on vibrato techniques for electric blues guitar. The video is available on the Blues Guitar Unleashed lesson blog and YouTube.
April 14, 2011 /Music PR News/ -- Blues Guitar Unleashed founder, Griff Hamlin, has released a new video on vibrato techniques for electric blues guitar. The video was released just as one of Griff's personal idols, Eric Clapton, performed at Rose Hall in New York City with jazz legend, Wynton Marsalis (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/blogs/alternate-take/eric-clapton-wynton-marsalis-play-the-blues-in-new-york-city-20110411.)
"Guys like Eric Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, they all had this incredibly vocal vibrato," says Griff. "But far too many guitar players miss the forest for the trees on this one. They spend all their time trying to add the vibrato before they can really play the notes. That just adds to the frustration of trying to learn something that's already difficult," he adds.
As vibrato seems like such an integral part of playing the blues, and of the electric guitar sound, it's surprising Blues Guitar Unleashed has not done any videos like this already, given the company's near 3 years producing online videos and blues guitar instructional DVDs.
"Really, I just didn't want people to get hung up on the vibrato thing," explains Griff. "Like I said, you have to be able to play the notes first. So whenever I'd get an email or a question about vibrato, I sort of shrug it off and just tell them not to worry so much about it. When I was a kid learning, I never worried about it. Then one day I wanted to do it so I just did. But I'd been playing for 6 or 7 years already so I could already play the notes."
