NEWPORT, RI, March 09, 2011 /Music PR News/ -- Special $50.00 discount tickets for the Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival are back! Beginning Tuesday, March 8, at 10:00 am, Newport Festivals Foundation* is offering $50.00 General Admission tickets (regularly priced at $69.00) for a limited time when purchased in person at the Newport and Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), 23 America's Cup Avenue in Newport.
"We're pleased to return with this discount offer to give area residents another opportunity to celebrate their hometown festivals in a special way. Throughout six decades, the City of Newport has graciously welcomed millions of musicians and music fans to the area, and this is our way of giving something back," said George Wein, President of Newport Festivals Foundation, which produces the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals.
This offer is not available on-line or by telephone and is available for General Admission tickets at Fort Adams State Park only. Folk Festival tickets must be purchased for a specific day (July 30 or 31). For the Jazz Festival, patrons may purchase a ticket that will be good for admission either August 6 or 7.

The 2011 Newport Folk Festival is set for July 29 - 31 and the Newport Jazz Festival takes over the following weekend, August 5 - 7. Artists and ticket on-sale dates for both festivals will be announced later this month.
