SHERBROOKE, QC, CANADA, October 9, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Luce Couture has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her extraordinary effort in the performing arts. As Director of Centennial Theatre for the past 26 years, Luce has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Centennial Theatre is a performing arts center which provides a cultural forum for dance, music, drama, and education. They embrace the public and allow the audience an opportunity to witness the process of creating works of art. They are continually striving to provide quality programming within a warm, intimate environment. Centennial Theatre produces 35 shows a year. They feature mostly dance and music. The music is usually jazz, world, classical, pop and rock, and the dance is mostly contemporary.
Centennial Theatre has played a significant role in the cultural life of the Eastern Townships region over the past 40 years. It was designed in 1967 to bring together artists and audiences in an atmosphere of visual intimacy and acoustic excellence. They provide actors, dancers and musicians with a significant audience, while maintaining a close relationship of auditorium to stage.
Luce possesses exceptional expertise in theatre management as well as designing art programs. During her educational career, she studied Literature at the University of Sherbrooke and Journalism at Laval University. Luce is the Vice President of Danse Sur Les Routes. She serves on the Committee at the Quebec Counsel of Music and on the Board for the Camp Musical De L'esterie. Luce is also a specialized presenter for Can Dance.
